Were there challenges along the way while you were writing? Did you overcome them?

Marjorie answers:

Dear Christian,
A simple answer to your good question is that writing IS a challenge, start to finish, but a joyous one. It helps to know from the beginning that it will be difficult, and here are some of the reasons why. Is the story plausible but not predictable? Is the background both accurate and interesting? Is it written for your audience in terms of age and grade level? And this is really important: are you writing about something that really interests you and will keep you focused throughout the process (vital for me because I’m a slow writer)? The challenges are a part of writing anything—books, class assignments, outlines, poetry, etc. Hope this help.

My best,
Marjorie Cowley
